5U AI is a Munich-based startup founded in 2025 by Technical University of Munich graduates Yağız Abik and Fehmi Şener, building an AI-powered digital workforce platform purpose-built for freight forwarding teams. The platform deploys AI Workers that autonomously handle quotations, bookings, shipment tracking, invoice reconciliation, and routine operational communications across air, sea, and road freight. A key differentiator is its proprietary "Context Layer" technology, which records the reasoning behind each operational decision so teams can audit, learn from, and continuously improve AI-driven processes. In July 2026, the company raised $3.2M in pre-seed funding led by London-based Emerge Capital, with participation from angel investors who are former senior executives at DHL, GEODIS, DSV, Maersk, and Ceva Logistics.
