Aiba

Pre Seed · Cybersecurity · Gjøvik, Norway · Founded 2022 · 9–22 employees

Aiba is a Norwegian Trust & Safety startup spun out of NTNU's information security research group in Gjøvik, founded in April 2022. Its core product, Amanda, is an AI-powered content moderation platform that detects cyber grooming, toxicity, fake profiles, and harmful behaviour in real time across gaming, social media, and communication platforms. The technology combines machine learning and behavioural biometrics to identify harmful conversation patterns — on average flagging grooming conversations in fewer than 20 message exchanges — and is designed to help platforms comply with regulations such as the EU Digital Services Act and COPPA. Aiba raised over NOK 7.5 million in a pre-seed round in mid-2022 from investors including Firda, StartupLab, Wiski Capital, and Antler, and has partnered with the Norwegian Police (Innlandet district) to further train and validate its AI. In 2026 the company was selected for Deloitte's Ventures for Impact programme in Sweden, underscoring its growing profile in the online safety space.
