AnaCardio is developing novel heart failure therapies through a breakthrough ghrelin signaling pathway mechanism that enhances cardiac contractility without adverse effects. Their lead drug AC01 showed promising safety and efficacy results in Phase 1b trials, representing a potential first-in-class treatment for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. The company recently secured €17.8 million in Series A extension funding co-led by Novo Holdings, Pureos Bioventures, and Sound Bioventures. Founded on research from Karolinska Institutet by renowned cardiologist Professor Lars Lund, the company is advancing to Phase 2a trials to establish proof-of-concept.
