Axithra is a deep-tech medical diagnostics startup developing a therapeutic drug monitoring platform powered by proprietary optical and silicon photonics technology. Spun out from Ghent University and imec, the company's Raman-on-chip spectroscopy system measures only the free, pharmacologically active fraction of drugs in a patient's blood at the point of need. Its first commercial application targets personalizing beta-lactam antibiotic treatments for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
