Bardo is a Stockholm-based carbon intelligence platform founded in 2024, spun out of Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel), that uses reasoning AI to turn financial transactions and supplier invoices into granular, activity-based carbon accounting data — replacing inaccurate spend-based methods. The platform integrates with ERP systems and delivers SOC 2 Type II certified, EU-hosted carbon footprint inventories with documented LCA calculations per invoice line, targeting enterprises with CSRD obligations. In December 2024, Bardo emerged from stealth with a total of approximately €4.7 million raised, including a €3 million investment from Cherry Ventures, alongside existing backers Stegra and prominent Nordic angel investors. The company is creating a new category called Carbon Intelligence, with backing from top-tier early-stage VC Cherry Ventures and the strategic support of one of Europe's leading green industrial scale-ups.
