Biocheck.UGent is a scientifically validated, risk-based biosecurity scoring platform developed out of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University, commercialised through the spin-off entity Biocheck.Gent BV. The platform offers free and premium online surveys for pig, poultry, and cattle farms, quantifying biosecurity levels and benchmarking them against national and global averages to help farmers, veterinarians, and industry partners identify weaknesses and drive improvements. The tool has been adopted in dozens of countries, with official veterinarians in the Czech Republic already using it for government-mandated farm controls, and it underpins multiple peer-reviewed scientific studies worldwide. Services extend beyond the software to include e-learning, live on-site biosecurity training, consultancy audits, and software integration, making it a comprehensive agritech platform for disease prevention and antimicrobial use reduction in livestock production.
