D-CRBN

Series A · Climate Tech · Antwerp, Belgium · Founded 2021 · 11–50 employees

Antwerp-based D-CRBN has developed a proprietary, electrified, non-thermal plasma technology designed to split and recycle carbon dioxide emissions into carbon monoxide and syngas. These circular molecules serve as essential chemical building blocks for green methanol, e-fuels, and polymers. The startup closed a substantial €17.5 million Series A funding round in May 2026 led by Astaia to scale its modular on-site systems for heavy industries. D-CRBN operates out of the BlueChem incubator and was established as a spin-off from the University of Antwerp's PLASMANT research group. The company's technology offers a circular carbon economy alternative to traditional underground carbon capture and storage.
