Dioxycle

Series A · Climate Tech · Paris, France · Founded 2021 · 20–50 employees

Dioxycle is a French climate tech startup that has developed a proprietary low-temperature electrolyzer converting industrial CO2 emissions into sustainable ethylene — the world's most widely used organic chemical — using only water and renewable electricity. The technology, rooted in five years of academic research in artificial photosynthesis, offers a cost-competitive alternative to fossil-based ethylene production with no green premium, facilitating rapid industrial adoption. In July 2023, Dioxycle closed a $17M Series A co-led by Lowercarbon Capital and Breakthrough Energy Ventures Europe, with participation from Gigascale Capital, to scale from lab prototypes to first on-site industrial demonstrators. The company has been recognized with the 'Best CO2 Utilisation 2024' innovation award and was selected by the World Economic Forum's UpLink Global CCU Challenge, underlining its technological leadership in carbon capture and utilisation.
