Driftline has developed TrueZone, a breakthrough physiological model and algorithm designed to accurately quantify human endurance. The technology utilizes advanced heart rate kinetics to analyze how the human heart rate behaves during physical exercise. This approach reduces the highly complex science of endurance to a single individualized number from standard smartwatch and wearable data. The solution successfully replaces traditional, exhausting, and expensive laboratory-based cardiopulmonary exercise testing with a casual 20-minute exercise session. The startup secured an 800,000 USD seed and grant round in November 2022, backed by Icelandic private investors and the Icelandic Center for Research.
