Elio develops an AI-powered eco-design software platform designed for sustainable manufacturing, with an initial focus on the pharmaceutical industry. The platform integrates sustainability metrics directly into the early process design phase, allowing R&D scientists and process engineers to optimize the ecological footprint of materials and packaging before production begins. In February 2025, the company secured a pre-seed funding round of 1.9 million EUR led by Ananda Impact Ventures. This capital injection is intended to accelerate the deployment of its software to reduce Scope 3 emissions and resource waste. The startup previously received validation through its selection for the 2021 Techstars Sustainability Accelerator.
