Elypta is developing the first metabolism-based liquid biopsy platform for early cancer detection using GAGome biomarkers of tumor metabolism. Their approach differs from DNA-based tests by measuring glycosaminoglycans in blood and urine samples, combined with machine learning algorithms to detect cancer signatures. The company raised $21 million in Series A funding in 2022 led by Bonnier Ventures and is advancing clinical trials across multiple cancer types, with their first indication targeting early detection of recurrence in renal cell carcinoma. Founded in 2017 by researchers from Chalmers University of Technology, they are positioned to address the key challenge of detecting stage I cancer where other technologies struggle.
