Ephos develops glass-based photonic chips using proprietary femtosecond laser writing techniques to power quantum computing and AI infrastructure. The company has raised $8.5M in seed funding and secured a €41.5M EU Chips Act grant to build the world's first manufacturing facility for glass-based quantum photonic circuits in Milan. Their chips reduce signal loss, a critical challenge in quantum computing, and offer superior energy efficiency for data centers. The startup has received backing from NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator as one of only 10 companies selected from over 1,300 applicants.
