Evoralis is a biotechnology spin-out from the University of Cambridge specializing in the discovery and development of plastic-depolymerizing enzymes to recycle complex textiles and plastics like polyester, nylon, and polyurethane. The company utilizes a patented, microfluidic ultra-high-throughput screening platform capable of screening up to 10 million enzyme candidates per day directly on actual plastic particles, accelerating enzyme discovery by up to 1,000 times compared to conventional methods. In September 2024, Evoralis secured a GBP 2.5 million Seed funding round led by LIFTT S.p.A. The technology aims to provide commercial-scale biological recycling solutions for previously unrecyclable textile waste.
