Evroc is building Europe's first sovereign, hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure to challenge US dominance in the European market. The Stockholm-based startup provides cloud services specifically designed for European companies that cannot use US-based services due to security and sovereignty concerns, particularly targeting defense, public sector, healthcare, and financial services. Founded by Mattias Åström, who previously created five tech businesses acquired by Apple, Nokia, Murata, and Schneider Electric, the company has raised over €63 million and plans to operate eight hyperscale data centers by 2028. Their flagship data center in Stockholm will house 16,000 GPUs, more than any other single location in Europe, positioning them as a critical AI infrastructure provider for the continent.
