Flexion Robotics is a Zurich-based startup founded in December 2024 that is building the AI 'brain' for humanoid and human-capable robots — a hardware-agnostic autonomy stack combining large language model planning, vision-language-action models trained in simulation, and transformer-based whole-body control. Unlike competitors relying on teleoperation and costly human demonstrations, Flexion uses a simulation-first, reinforcement learning approach to train robots for real-world deployment in manufacturing, logistics, disaster response, and beyond. The founding team comprises alumni from ETH Zurich, NVIDIA, Meta, Google, Tesla, and Amazon — including co-founder and CTO David Höller, who helped build NVIDIA's Isaac Gym simulation environment. The company raised a $7.35M seed round followed by a $50M Series A (November 2025) led by DST Global Partners, with participation from NVentures (NVIDIA's venture arm), Redalpine, Prosus Ventures, and Moonfire, bringing total funding to nearly $60M.
