Fractile is a UK-based AI chip startup building a new class of inference accelerators that physically interleave memory and compute on the same die using SRAM, eliminating the DRAM memory-bottleneck that limits GPU-based inference. Founded in 2022 by Oxford AI/Robotics PhD Walter Goodwin, the company claims its architecture can run frontier LLMs up to 100x faster and at a fraction of the cost of Nvidia GPUs.
