Funki develops advanced fermentation technology to convert agricultural and food industry side-streams into nutritious, clean-label mycoprotein-based protein products. Co-founded by food scientists Dr. Sirli Rosenvald and Martti Tamm, the startup operates in close association with the Center of Food and Fermentation Technologies in Tallinn. In July 2024, Funki secured a ninety-six thousand euro employment grant from SekMo to hire a dedicated microbial fermentation researcher. The company has also participated in major regional accelerators including Beamline Accelerator and the Tehnopol Startup Incubator to advance its alternative protein solutions.
