Genesis AI

Seed · Robotics · Paris, France · Founded 2024 · 60–80 employees

Genesis AI is a Paris- and Palo Alto-based physical AI research lab building a universal robotics foundation model (RFM) and full-stack robotics platform, founded in late 2024 by Zhou Xian (Carnegie Mellon robotics PhD) and Théophile Gervet (former Mistral AI research scientist). The company uses a proprietary physics simulation engine to generate synthetic training data at massive scale, overcoming the cost and time constraints of real-world robotic data collection. In July 2025, it emerged from stealth with a landmark $105M seed round — matching Mistral AI's record French seed round — co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures, with backing from Bpifrance, HSG, Eric Schmidt, and Xavier Niel. In June 2026, it unveiled 'Eno', its first general-purpose non-humanoid robot with human-like hands, targeting logistics, manufacturing, hotels, and hospitals for commercial deployment from late 2026.
