GlucoModicum has developed the world's first needle-free glucose monitor using proprietary magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) technology that extracts interstitial fluid through the skin without needles. Their technology performs 13 times better than previous needle-free approaches and has been validated in clinical trials with Type 2 diabetics. The company recently launched Sofio, their single-day glucose monitoring device, and has partnerships for mass manufacturing with capacity to produce 21 million sensors annually. Founded as a University of Helsinki spinout in 2018, they have raised significant funding including from the European Investment Bank.
