Hystar manufactures ultra-efficient, patented Polymer Electrolyte Membrane electrolysers designed for large-scale green hydrogen production. Their proprietary design features a membrane that is ninety percent thinner than conventional systems, enabling up to one hundred and fifty percent more green hydrogen production. This technology reduces electricity consumption and lowers production costs for hard-to-abate sectors like steelmaking, ammonia production, and heavy transport. In October 2024, the company secured a 26.1 million euro grant from the EU Innovation Fund to automate gigawatt-scale production of its electrolyser stacks in Norway. Backed by key industrial players including AP Ventures, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Nysnø Climate Investments, the company continues to scale its commercial footprint.
