Katanox

Seed · Travel & Hospitality · Amsterdam, Netherlands · Founded 2020 · 11–50 employees

Katanox is an Amsterdam-based travel accommodation distribution and fintech platform that unifies direct contracting, connectivity, payments, and reconciliation for hotels and travel sellers in a single infrastructure. The platform replaces card rails (virtual credit cards) with account-to-account payments, guaranteeing hotels faster settlement while reducing payment costs for all parties. Founded in 2020, Katanox went live with its first global hotel chain in 2023 and was granted a PSD2 financial licence by the Dutch National Bank in 2024, enabling regulated payment services across the EEA. The company has raised approximately $6M in total funding, including a $5.7M seed round in May 2022 backed by angel investors including Rappi/Yuno co-founder Juan Pablo Ortega and fintech veterans Jan Joost Kalff and Bas Blommaart. It was named one of PhocusWire's Hot 25 Travel Startups for 2024 and has established partnerships with Premier Inn, Guestline, TrustedStays, and Lanes & Planes.
