Klareva specializes in growing Black Soldier Fly larvae to convert organic food industry waste, such as apple pomace, into sustainable animal protein and nutrient-rich natural fertilizer. The Estonian startup is also developing proprietary automation and rearing technologies to optimize the efficiency of insect farming processes. Demonstrating early technical and regional validation, the company won the BioBoosters Interreg Baltic Sea Region Piesta Hackathon in May 2025. Furthermore, Klareva secured a spot in the Forest, Soil, and Biodiversity Accelerator, highlighting its potential in the circular economy sector.
