Lightcast Discovery develops the Envisia benchtop platform, which leverages proprietary light-directed optical electrowetting-on-dielectric technology to manipulate tens of thousands of individual picoliter-scale droplets simultaneously. This automation allows researchers to control complex, sequential cell-based assays with live-cell recovery. The technology streamlines workflows in critical areas such as antibody discovery, cell therapy, and oncology therapeutics. In April 2026, the company secured a 27 million USD investment led by ARCH Venture Partners to further develop its platform. This followed a previous 38 million GBP Series B funding round led by M Ventures in 2023.
