Luna Europa – European Moonport Company is a subsidiary of German space technology leader OHB SE, founded in May 2025 and headquartered in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich. The company focuses on developing European lunar infrastructure and establishing a permanent European presence on the Moon through technologies including launch and landing pads, energy systems, navigation, and communication capabilities. In collaboration with Munich Airport International, the company has developed concepts for a central lunar launch and landing facility that would serve as a logistics hub for cargo and crewed spacecraft. The initiative is strategically positioned as Europe's response to the growing lunar activities of major spacefaring nations like the US, China, and India, with backing from Bavaria's government investment of over €1 billion in aerospace through 2030.
