Maisa

Seed · No Code & Automation · Valencia, Spain · Founded 2024 · 80–85 employees

Maisa is a Valencia-based agentic process automation platform that deploys AI 'digital workers' capable of executing complex, document-intensive enterprise workflows with full traceability via its proprietary Knowledge Processing Unit (KPU) and Chain-of-Work audit trail. Founded in 2024 by David Villalón and Manuel Romero, the company is redefining RPA 2.0 by making AI accountable and hallucination-resistant for regulated industries such as banking, automotive, and energy. In August 2025, Maisa closed a $25M seed round — the largest seed round ever recorded in Spain — led by Creandum, with participation from Forgepoint Capital International, NFX, and Village Global. The company has been named by Gartner in its 2025 Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence and Hype Cycle for the Future of Work, marking the first time a Spanish startup has appeared in these reports, and was also recognized as one of Gartner's four global 'Set Diamonds' in agentic AI.
