NanoPhoria is a preclinical-stage biopharmaceutical spin-off of Italy’s National Research Council that is developing a non-viral drug delivery platform. Their proprietary technology encapsulates therapeutic peptides and RNAs inside biomimetic, inorganic calcium phosphate nanoparticles embedded in respirable microparticles, targeting cardiomyocytes directly from the lungs. The company's lead program, NP-MP1, is currently being developed for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. In a major milestone, NanoPhoria closed a record-breaking Series A funding round totaling eighty-three point five million euros, which was finalized in January 2026 and included equity backing from the European Innovation Council Fund.
