Neoplants is developing the first generation of bioengineered plants to fight indoor air pollution using synthetic biology. Their flagship product, Neo P1, is a genetically modified Pothos plant that can purify indoor air up to 30 times more effectively than regular houseplants by capturing and recycling volatile organic compounds like formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and xylene. The company raised €19.2M ($20M) in seed funding in 2022 and has expanded to the US market. They're targeting broader climate applications beyond indoor air quality including carbon capture and storage.
