NPHarvest

Seed · Climate Tech · Espoo, Finland · Founded 2023 · 5–5 employees

NPHarvest is an Espoo-based spin-off from Aalto University that has developed a proprietary nutrient recovery technology to capture up to 90% of nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater. Their hydrophobic membrane stripping technology converts these nutrients into ammonium salt and solid phosphorus that can be used in fertilizer production. The company raised €2.2 million in April 2024, with funding from Nordic Foodtech VC, Stephen Industries, and the Finnish Ministry of Environment. They have launched an industrial-scale demonstrator unit in Turkey and have shown significant cost savings potential for wastewater treatment facilities. NPHarvest recently secured an additional €1.2 million from Business Finland's Deep Tech Accelerator program to commercialize their waste-to-fertilizer technology.
