OTTOBAHN is developing an innovative emission-free and fully autonomous transportation system above today's traffic, consisting of suspended gondolas using proven rail technology. The Munich-based startup completed a seven-figure funding round in 2021 led by Ökovation Ventures at a €22.5 million valuation. They received construction permits for their first demonstration track in Taufkirchen near Munich and plan to build their first commercial route by 2023. The system can transport up to 4 passengers or 1.5 tons of cargo in individual gondolas that travel without stops at speeds up to 60 km/h in urban areas.
