P2X Solutions is a Finnish pioneer in green hydrogen and Power-to-X technology, operating Finland's first industrial-scale green hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta with 20 MW electrolysis capacity. The company was acquired by Swiss energy giant Alpiq in April 2024 for €47 million, with Alpiq taking a 54.9% majority stake. P2X produces green hydrogen using renewable energy and water electrolysis, converting some into synthetic fuels like methane, methanol, and ammonia. They aim to reach 1 GW of hydrogen production capacity by 2031 and have received significant government funding including a €60 million grant from Business Finland for their Joensuu project.
