Peafowl Plasmonics

Seed · Climate Tech · Uppsala, Sweden · Founded 2018 · 10–15 employees

Peafowl Plasmonics has developed the world's first direct plasmonic solar cell using transparent light harvesting technology that can absorb up to ten times more light than any other known material. Their completely transparent cells target low-power devices like indoor sensors, e-paper displays, and dynamic windows, potentially eliminating millions of single-use batteries. The Uppsala-based deep tech startup raised €4 million in seed funding led by Industrifonden and Navigare Ventures in 2022 and has been recognized in multiple accelerator programs including Red Herring Top 100 Global winners.
