Pina Earth develops certified climate protection projects to make European forests climate-resilient by converting monocultures into biodiverse mixed forests. The Munich-based startup uses AI-based technology and remote sensing to quantify CO2 reduction performance and enables forest owners to access carbon credit markets. They've already covered over 1,000 hectares in Germany with third-party audited projects and recently merged with Austrian company Tree.ly to create Europe's largest forest carbon platform. The company raised €2.4 million in seed funding led by Xange and Nordstar, and was part of Y Combinator's Winter 2022 batch.
