Planetary is a Swiss foodtech startup building global fermentation infrastructure to scale alternative proteins and bio-based products. The company operates as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), providing industrial-scale bioprocessing capacity for microbial precision and mycelial biomass fermentation. Founded by experts including former Quorn R&D head Muyiwa Akintoye, the company has raised $8.1 million in seed funding led by Astanor Ventures. Planetary is constructing Switzerland's first industrial fermentation facility in Aarberg and developing its proprietary BioBlocks fermentation technology platform to enable sustainable production at commercial scale.
