PLD Space is Spain's pioneering private rocket company developing reusable launch vehicles for small satellite deployment. Founded in 2011, the company successfully launched Europe's first privately-developed rocket (Miura 1) in October 2023, reaching 47km altitude. They are developing the orbital Miura 5 rocket capable of delivering up to 900kg payloads to low Earth orbit, with planned commercial launches starting in 2026. The company has raised over €350 million in funding and operates Europe's largest private rocket engine test facilities at Teruel Airport. PLD Space aims to conduct more than 30 launches per year by 2030 and has established launch facilities in Spain and French Guiana.
