Principled Intelligence is an Italian AI deeptech startup developing trust, safety, and governance infrastructure for enterprise AI deployments. The company trains custom multilingual small language models that handle live guardrailing, runtime control, and evaluation of AI agents. Key products include Spectral, a scenario-based red-teaming platform, and Orbitals, an open-source runtime governance framework. The company secured a €1.85 million pre-seed round in early 2026 led by CDP Venture Capital's National Technology Transfer Hub for AI and Cybersecurity and BlackSheep Ventures.
