Pre Seed · Data & Analytics · Zurich, Switzerland · Founded 2024 · 5–15 employees
Qala is a Zurich-based data observability and governance startup founded in 2024 by David Scott Turner, Carl Strempel and Bruno Soares, veterans who previously co-founded Imburse Payments before its acquisition by a US insurance software firm. The platform embeds real-time data visibility, lineage tracking and automated policy enforcement directly at the source — in code, APIs and pipelines — enabling continuous GDPR, HIPAA and SOC2 compliance without downstream monitoring. It raised $2M pre-seed in October 2025 led by QBIT Capital and Haatch with participation from Backbone Ventures, ROI Ventures and SICTIC angels.
