QuNorth is a Nordic quantum initiative established to procure and operate the world's most powerful commercial Level 2 quantum computer called Magne. The company is jointly owned by EIFO and the Novo Nordisk Foundation with €80 million in backing, making it Denmark's flagship quantum infrastructure project. Magne will be the first commercially available Level 2 quantum computer featuring 50 logical qubits and over 1,200 physical qubits, delivered through a partnership between Microsoft and Atom Computing. The quantum computer is expected to go live in early 2027 and will provide Nordic researchers and companies priority access to advanced quantum capabilities for applications in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, logistics and finance.
