Ratio1 is a decentralized AI meta-operating system (meta-OS) built on the Ratio1 DNA (Decentralized Neuro-symbolic Autonomous processing) framework, enabling trustless, privacy-preserving machine learning and AI inference across heterogeneous edge devices such as laptops, smartphones, and cloud VMs. Its key innovation is a blockchain-secured architecture — combining decentralized container orchestration, distributed storage (R1FS), homomorphic encrypted federated learning (EDIL), and an oracle network (OracleSync) — that turns idle computing resources into a global AI supercomputer. The platform aims to reduce AI operational costs by 10–100x compared to centralized cloud alternatives, making AI infrastructure accessible to startups, developers, and underserved communities. Ratio1 is backed by Romanian government financing grants (SMIS 143488 and SMIS 156084) and has published its technical architecture as a peer-reviewed paper on arXiv (September 2025). The project was founded and is led by Dr. Andrei Ionut Damian, a veteran AI researcher and lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest with over 25 years of experience. Notably, Ratio1 deliberately avoided any ICO or public token sale, distributing all R1 utility tokens exclusively through protocol node-based mining.
