RoBoa develops snake-like robots that use pneumatic growing-based locomotion to reach confined spaces up to 100 meters deep where humans and conventional robots cannot go. Founded as an ETH Zurich spin-off, the company targets search and rescue operations after disasters and industrial inspections in hazardous environments like sewers and chemical plants. The startup won the Swiss Technology Award 2024 and secured CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick to advance toward commercial launch.
