Sarcura

Seed · Biotech · Vienna, Austria · Founded 2019 · 11–50 employees

Sarcura developed an innovative instrument and device platform designed for the autonomous, miniaturized, and scalable manufacturing of advanced cell therapies like CAR-T. By integrating silicon photonics semiconductor technology with microfluidic cartridges, the company aimed to enable real-time process control and cellular sorting. Prior to filing for insolvency in May 2025 due to high prototype development costs, the startup collaborated with imec to build its flow cytometry technology. Sarcura secured a substantial seven million euro Seed Plus equity round in late 2022 followed by a one point seven million euro FFG grant in early 2024.
