SemiQon develops silicon-based quantum processors for scalable quantum computing, addressing critical challenges in the quantum industry by using existing semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure. The company has successfully demonstrated 4-qubit quantum dot arrays and cryogenic CMOS transistors that consume 1000 times less power than traditional components. They secured €17.5 million in February 2025 from the European Innovation Council, bringing total funding to €24 million. SemiQon spun out from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in 2023 and operates from the advanced Micronova Center facilities.
