SereneDB

Pre Seed · Data & Analytics · Founded 2025 · 3–10 employees

SereneDB is a Berlin-based open-source database startup building the first real-time search analytics database, unifying Elasticsearch-like search and ClickHouse-like analytics in a single PostgreSQL-compatible engine. Founded in 2025 by Alexander Malandin, Andrey Abramov, and Valery Mironov — veterans of ArangoDB and creators of the world's fastest enterprise-grade C++ search library — the team brings rare depth in information retrieval and database internals. The product eliminates the need to combine multiple tools (e.g. Elasticsearch, ClickHouse, caches) by fusing full-text, vector, and hybrid search with OLAP-grade analytics behind a standard PostgreSQL interface. In December 2025, SereneDB raised $2.1M in pre-seed funding led by Entourage and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), which will be used to accelerate open-source development and grow the team. Early benchmarks show performance up to 10× faster than Elasticsearch on certain workloads, and the project is already actively publishing code and attracting developer community engagement on GitHub.
