Shack is a Swiss-built AI-powered C2C auction marketplace for secondhand goods, founded by Julius Ilg, former Chief Commercial Officer of Ricardo. The app lets users snap a photo and have AI automatically generate a title, description, and price suggestion in real time. Since launching in November 2024, the app surpassed 50,000 downloads and briefly reached #1 on Switzerland's iOS free app charts. Shack differentiates itself from incumbents like Ricardo and eBay by being completely fee-free, ad-free, restricted to verified private sellers only, and supporting crypto payments including Stablecoins, SOL, BTC, and DOGE. The company is now planning expansion across the full DACH region and into the United States.
