Swave Photonics is a Leuven-based fabless semiconductor deep-tech company spun out of imec and VUB in 2022 that develops true holographic display chips using proprietary Holographic eXtended Reality (HXR) technology designed to enable compact, high-resolution 3D spatial computing and AR/VR applications without bulky optics; after raising a €27M Series A co-led by imec.xpand and SFPIM Relaunch to advance its reality-first holographic platform for next-gen displays, Swave secured an additional €6M follow-on funding with Samsung Ventures to accelerate commercialisation for smart glasses, heads-up displays and AI-powered immersive systems, winning innovation awards and positioning itself at the frontier of visual computing innovation.
