Telura

Pre Seed · Energy · Munich, Germany · Founded 2025 · 10–20 employees

Telura is a Munich-based deep-tech startup developing electro-impulse drilling technology that uses ultra-high-voltage electrical pulses to fracture hard rock from within, replacing traditional mechanical grinding and dramatically reducing the cost of accessing deep geothermal energy. Founded in 2025 by Philipp Engelkamp (previously CEO of sustainable e-fuels company INERATEC) and Andrew Welling (ex-Rolls Royce and Lilium), the company builds on over two decades of research from Germany's top technical universities. In Autumn 2025, Telura raised a €4 million pre-seed round from Nucleus Capital, Possible Ventures, First Momentum Ventures, and angel investors Better Angle and Felix Jahn. The company has also secured a validation agreement with SPRIND, Germany's federal agency for breakthrough innovations, to test the technology under real-world deployment conditions, with market entry planned for 2026.
