Tropic Square is developing the world's first fully transparent and auditable secure element chip called TROPIC01, built on RISC-V architecture. The company, a subsidiary of SatoshiLabs (creator of Trezor), takes an open-source approach to hardware security, allowing independent auditing and verification. They raised €4 million in 2021 to finalize development and recently launched TROPIC01 into full production with global distribution. The chip is designed for IoT devices, crypto hardware wallets, and other security-critical applications where transparency and verifiability are paramount.
