Vamo is a Cologne-based climate-tech startup founded in 2022 that streamlines the switch from oil and gas heating to high-efficiency heat pumps, covering the full journey from planning and KfW grant applications to installation (within 30 days) and long-term monitoring. The company's proprietary HeatOS software manages the complex supply chain end-to-end, while all installed heat pumps are internet-connected and monitored in a central control room. Vamo is building its 'Heat Fleet' — a growing network of smart, interconnected heat pumps across all 16 German federal states that can stabilize the power grid and optimize energy consumption at scale. The company grew sixfold year-over-year and expanded nationwide within just six months. In October 2024, Vamo expanded its seed round to over €10 million, adding €7 million led by Extantia Capital and GET Fund, with participation from existing investors Realyze Ventures, neosfer, and Caesar Ventures.
