Vamos Rural is a Cantabria-based rural tourism platform that connects travellers directly with local hosts — farmers, artisans, and rural producers — offering over 1,700 experiences across Cantabria and Asturias. The platform is differentiated by a transparent, host-friendly commission model where more than 85% of revenues stay within local communities, in contrast to major OTAs such as Booking or Airbnb. It leverages AI to generate fully personalised rural itineraries and has a stated goal of digitising the 40% of rural experience providers that have no online presence. Founded by young entrepreneur José Manuel Colsa, the startup has been backed by collaborative support from the Tourism Directorates of Cantabria and Asturias, and has participated in the AticcoLab acceleration programme.
