Verne is a Croatian autonomous mobility company spun out of Rimac Group that launched Europe's first commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb in April 2026. The company has partnered with Uber and Pony.ai to deploy autonomous vehicles using Pony.ai's seventh-generation autonomous driving system. Verne is building its own factory near Zagreb to produce purpose-built two-seat robotaxis and has begun permitting discussions with 11 cities across the EU, UK, and Middle East. The company received €179.4 million in funding from the EU's National Recovery and Resilience Plan for research, development, and production of autonomous mobility vehicles.
