Wasp is an innovative open-source framework that simplifies full-stack web development by using a declarative domain-specific language (DSL) alongside React, Node.js, and Prisma. Founded by Croatian brothers Martin and Matija Sosic in 2020, the company enables developers to build enterprise web applications with significantly less code and boilerplate. The startup secured €1.3M in seed funding led by Berlin-based Lunar Ventures in October 2021 and is a Y Combinator Winter 2021 graduate. With around 300 apps already built using their platform and recognition as the 14th fastest-growing open-source project in 2023, Wasp addresses the complexity that arises from connecting different parts of the web development stack.
